Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Student Loan Advisor in our customer contact center. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, answering their questions, and resolving any issues that may arise. This is a fantastic opportunity to establish a career in a dynamic and supportive environment, with the possibility of working from home after 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

As a Student Loan Advisor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to our students, answering their questions, and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Utilizing standard technology, such as a telephone, email, and web browser, to navigate our systems and provide accurate information
  • Following established policies and procedures, including working within our various systems, timekeeping, and documentation of calls
  • Assisting callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically to our plan providers for processing
  • Completing basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry
  • Maintaining accurate records and adhering to ethics and privacy rules

Schedule

Our customer contact center operates on the following schedule:

  • Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
  • Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
  • Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm

Preferred Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently
  • A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM
  • Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • The ability to effectively work within established key performance indicators/metrics
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of contact center technology
  • Excellent command of the English language, effective use of grammar skills
  • Excellent communication etiquette

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you'll need to:

  • Be able to navigate various systems and browsers
  • Have excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Have knowledge of contact center technology
  • Have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word

  • Have excellent communication etiquette
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
