Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding Industry

Job Summary:

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of the ocean product. You'll work closely with the MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and other stakeholders to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and supporting carrier service issues. You'll also serve as an ocean subject matter expert, supporting sales and operations teams to achieve volume targets and yield enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product

• Collaborate with the MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and other stakeholders to implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales
• Communicate strategies, market conditions, and direction to internal and external stakeholders, including the global trade lane team, sales, and operations
• Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
• Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity
• Work with the MD of Ocean, regional ocean management team, and marketing to promote the ocean product and develop external and internal communications
• Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results to achieve budget targets
• Support sales and operations teams as needed

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
• Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in implementing pricing programs and developing ocean strategies

• Knowledge of global trade lane operations and logistics
• Familiarity with ocean carrier performance metrics and KPIs
• Experience in managing annual budgets and controlling costs

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:
