Telecommunications Project Manager

This North American construction company is undergoing rapid growth and is seeking Senior Project Managers with the leadership experience and technical expertise to oversee and deliver complex, high-impact telecom infrastructure projects. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a critical role in executing large-scale initiatives, including long-haul fiber optic deployments, wireless infrastructure builds, and major network expansion programs. These projects often span hundreds to thousands of miles and involve large, multi-disciplinary teams operating across multiple regions. You will be responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within scope and budget, while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. In this senior-level role, you will provide strategic direction, lead cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement across all phases of the construction lifecycle. This role will be a on a fully remote basis with candidates needing to sit in Milwaukee, Chicago, Columbus, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Louisville, Lexington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and execution of large-scale telecom infrastructure projects, including long-haul fiber deployments, small cell installations, and wireless tower builds
• Oversee end-to-end project delivery, including scope, schedule, budgeting, and cost tracking
• Ensure alignment with Project Quality Plans (PQP), industry standards (NESC, NEC), and company safety protocols
• Manage permitting, risk mitigation, and client communications throughout the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Lead contract negotiations, change order management, and overall commercial performance
• Establish and manage project systems for reporting, documentation, and operational tracking
• Identify and help pursue new telecom infrastructure opportunities within existing and emerging markets

Project Environment:

• Long-haul infrastructure builds, including fiber line installation across thousands of miles
• Implementation of Inline Amplifiers (ILA) across large-scale fiber networks
• Heavy civil and infrastructure-focused construction projects (non-residential)
• High-volume deployments requiring strong coordination across multiple stakeholders

Must Haves:

• 10 years of project management experience within telecom, utility construction, or large-scale infrastructure environments
• Proven track record delivering complex, large-scale builds (telecom, utilities, or ICI construction)
• Strong understanding of telecom construction methods, permitting processes, and applicable codes/standards
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
• Experience with project management and scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Education in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred, but not required (experience is prioritized)

Additional Details:

• Projects are heavily execution-driven, with a strong focus on maintaining schedule, managing scope/budget, and ensuring safety compliance
• Candidates must come from infrastructure-focused environments (telecom, utilities, or heavy civil/ICI — no residential)
• Travel required up to ~30% across the U.S., including projects based out of Florence, KY
