Senior Purchasing Strategist - Remote Opportunity
Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing organization, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Purchasing Strategist to join their fully remote team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies, optimizing supply chains, and driving cost efficiencies across the enterprise. As a Senior Purchasing Strategist, you will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. Your expertise will be crucial in managing complex procurement projects, conducting market analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities, and developing long-term strategic sourcing plans. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and product development, to understand their needs and ensure procurement aligns with overall business objectives. Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies to support organizational goals. Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers, fostering strong and collaborative relationships. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable contract terms. Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and economic conditions to inform procurement decisions. Manage end-to-end procurement processes, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance and efficiency. Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and diversification strategies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their material and service requirements. Prepare detailed reports on purchasing activities, savings, and supplier performance. Mentor and guide junior members of the purchasing team. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging procurement technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing. Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts and achieving significant cost savings. Deep understanding of supply chain principles, global sourcing, and risk management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, fast-paced environment. CIPS or CPSM certification is a plus.
