Join a team that’s shaping the future of silicon, driving reliability, and setting new standards for quality across the industry.

Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a seasoned Lead Reliability Engineer – Custom Silicon Management to spearhead reliability and quality initiatives for our next‑generation system‑on‑chip (SoC) projects. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including design, manufacturing, and supply chain—to ensure that our silicon products meet the highest standards of durability, performance, and customer satisfaction. You will lead reliability testing, drive supplier excellence, and develop robust processes that safeguard the longevity of arenaflex’s cutting‑edge devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive reliability and quality plans for custom silicon and packaging technologies, from concept through mass production.
  • Lead cross‑functional reliability reviews, coordinating with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to identify risk factors and mitigation strategies.
  • Define and implement stress‑test methodologies (thermal cycling, electrical stress, ESD, humidity, etc.) to validate product robustness under real‑world conditions.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conducting audits, performance assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with JEDEC, ISO, and internal standards.
  • Oversee First Article Inspection (FAI) processes, guaranteeing that initial silicon samples meet target specifications before volume production.
  • Analyze failure data, root‑cause investigations, and corrective actions (8D, FA, MRB, RMA) to drive product enhancements and reduce field returns.
  • Collaborate with process engineering to monitor and improve key metrics such as Cpk, yield, and capacity throughout the fab and packaging cycles.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of reliability documentation, including test plans, qualification reports, and compliance dossiers.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and act as the primary reliability subject‑matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Travel to supplier sites, fabs, and customer locations as needed to support reliability initiatives and supplier development programs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline (BS+3 years of relevant experience is preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, with a strong focus on custom silicon and advanced packaging.
  • Demonstrated expertise in JEDEC reliability standards, ISO 9001/14001 quality systems, and related industry specifications.
  • Proven track record of managing supplier performance, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of reliability testing techniques, including accelerated life testing, burn‑in, temperature‑humidity‑bias (THB), and electro‑static discharge (ESD) testing.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, Python, or R) and reliability modeling (Weibull, Arrhenius, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of influencing cross‑functional teams and presenting technical findings to senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with silicon‑on‑insulator (SOI), 3D‑stacked ICs, or heterogeneous integration technologies.
  • Familiarity with design‑for‑reliability (DfR) methodologies and reliability‑centered design (RCD) practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with failure analysis equipment (SEM, TEM, X‑ray, acoustic microscopy).
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or demonstrated project leadership.
  • Fluency in additional languages to support global supplier interactions.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Leadership: Ability to guide complex reliability programs and influence product roadmaps.
  • Problem‑Solving: Systematic approach to root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, fostering partnerships across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating fast‑paced, evolving technology landscapes.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous documentation and data integrity to support compliance and audit readiness.

Career Growth & Development

At arenaflex, we invest heavily in our people’s professional journey. As a Lead Reliability Engineer, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior technology leaders and participation in global reliability forums.
  • Opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects that directly influence product launches and market success.
  • Continuous learning programs, including technical workshops, certifications, and tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees.
  • Clear career pathways toward senior engineering management, technical specialist roles, or strategic product development positions.
