Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Customer Engineer at arenaflex, your day-to-day work will be dynamic, customer-facing, and deeply technical. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Technical Advisory and Solution Design: Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers and prospects, helping them architect scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions tailored to their unique business requirements.
  • Product Demonstrations and Messaging: Prepare and deliver compelling product messaging through whiteboarding sessions, slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, proof-of-concept trials, and detailed responses to requests for information (RFIs).
  • Integration Strategy and Recommendations: Investigate, analyze, and recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platform configurations, and application infrastructure needed to implement complete cloud solutions successfully.
  • Hands-On Prototyping: Work directly with arenaflex Cloud Platform products to build, demonstrate, and model integrations within customer and partner environments, showcasing real-world value and feasibility.
  • Customer Site Visits and Travel: Attend customer sites, industry conferences, partner meetings, and other related events up to 25% of the time as needed, strengthening customer relationships and gathering field insights.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with sales teams, product marketing managers, and engineering groups to stay ahead of industry trends, share customer feedback, and continuously improve arenaflex cloud offerings.
  • Issue Resolution and Escalation Support: Assist fellow team members by troubleshooting strategic technical issues for customers, ensuring timely resolution and high customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and IT space, and proactively share knowledge with internal teams and customers alike.

Essential Qualifications

To thrive in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Educational Background: A four-year college degree (Bachelor's degree) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, OR equivalent practical experience in the field.
  • Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with enterprise deal designing in a distributed computing environment, or equivalent experience in a client-facing technical role.
  • Application Development Knowledge: Solid understanding of both legacy and modern application development practices, cloud service delivery models, and deployment architectures.
  • Containerization Expertise: Working knowledge of containers and related technologies, including container orchestration platforms and microservices frameworks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving customer challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

While not strictly required, the following qualifications will set you apart as an exceptional candidate:

  • Advanced Networking Knowledge: Experience with advanced networking concepts, Linux systems, software-defined networking (SDN), virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, VPNs, and their application to Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies.
  • Large-Scale Virtualization: Hands-on experience with large-scale VMware deployments and enterprise virtualization strategies.
  • API and Microservices Architecture: Proven experience designing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS solutions, and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, and similar platforms.
  • Cloud-Native Development: Familiarity with cloud-native software development practices and tools for application development and deployment, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Logging and Monitoring: Experience with logging and monitoring tools for hybrid cloud environments, including observability platforms and performance tuning.
