Remote · USA Full-time New today

Join arenaflex: Power the Backbone of Global Technology from Alabama

Are you a hands-on technical professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments? Do you find genuine satisfaction in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical infrastructure that keeps the world's most powerful technology platforms running smoothly? arenaflex is searching for a dedicated and skilled Remote Data Center Operations Technician – Networking & Hardware Infrastructure Specialist to join our expanding Hardware Operations team. This is more than a job — it's an opportunity to become an essential engineer behind the digital experiences billions of people rely on every single day.

At arenaflex, we believe that great technology is built from the ground up. While our users see sleek interfaces, lightning-fast search results, and seamless cloud services, what they don't see is the extraordinary physical infrastructure powering it all. That's where you come in. As a key member of our Technical Infrastructure organization, you'll be responsible for deploying, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the cutting-edge hardware and server software that makes our entire platform possible. If you're excited by the idea of working with infrastructure at the absolute forefront of computer science, this role is designed for you.

About arenaflex and Our Mission

arenaflex is not just another technology company. We are a team of builders, problem-solvers, and infrastructure enthusiasts who take pride in being the engineers behind the engineers. Our Hardware Operations group is the heart of our physical infrastructure, responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and advancing the server systems, networking equipment, and data center operations that keep our services running at peak performance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are proud of our culture of curiosity and innovation. Our team members are known for "voiding warranties" — taking things apart to understand how they work so we can rebuild them better. We maintain, secure, and optimize vast networks, ensuring that our users always receive the highest quality and fastest experience possible. Every cable connected, every server configured, every issue resolved contributes to something larger: the reliable, world-class technology experience that defines arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Data Center Operations Technician at arenaflex, your day-to-day work will blend hands-on hardware expertise, network operations, and collaborative problem-solving. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Infrastructure Deployment and Maintenance: Contribute to and lead efforts and projects focused on the deployment, maintenance, and ongoing support of current and next-generation data center infrastructure. You'll work on installations, upgrades, and expansions that keep our operations scalable and resilient.
  • Technical Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Participate in or lead troubleshooting sessions to resolve critical or escalated technical issues. You'll be the technical expert who steps in when complex problems arise, using your analytical skills and technical knowledge to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.
  • Hardware Testing and Validation: Test and troubleshoot new server hardware components and designs, providing valuable feedback to engineering teams. Your real-world insights will help shape the future of our infrastructure.
  • Linux OS Configuration and Support: Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve Linux operating system issues on servers. You'll work extensively with Linux-based tools and environments, ensuring optimal performance and stability across our server fleet.
  • Advanced Network Infrastructure: Deploy and maintain arenaflex's advanced data center server and network infrastructure, including the configuration of complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches, and networking protocols.
  • Project Leadership: Participate in or lead small mission teams on large-scale installations and develop comprehensive project contingency plans to mitigate risk and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Physical Hardware Operations: Perform manual movement and installation of racks and equipment. While the work can be physically demanding at times, you'll be working with infrastructure that represents the cutting edge of modern computing technology.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, engineers, and stakeholders to overcome challenges and deliver exceptional results. Your ability to communicate and collaborate will be just as important as your technical skills.
