About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Cybersecurity

arenaflex is a global leader in cloud‑enabled security solutions, delivering cutting‑edge threat intelligence, incident response, and managed detection services to Fortune 500 enterprises, government agencies, and fast‑growing tech innovators. With a heritage of relentless innovation and a culture that celebrates curiosity, arenaflex empowers its teams to confront the most sophisticated cyber adversaries and protect the digital foundations of modern business. As a remote‑first organization headquartered in San Francisco, USA, arenaflex blends the flexibility of work‑from‑home arrangements with the collaborative spirit of a tightly knit security community.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s hyper‑connected world, cyber threats evolve faster than ever. Our clients rely on arenaflex’s expertise to detect, analyze, and neutralize attacks before they compromise critical assets. As a Cyber Threat Analyst, you will be at the front line of this mission, translating raw data into actionable intelligence, guiding incident response teams, and shaping the strategic security posture of high‑value customers. Your insights will directly influence how organizations defend against nation‑state actors, ransomware gangs, and emerging malware families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Threat Detection & Analysis: Deploy arenaflex’s proprietary tooling and open‑source platforms to identify indicators of compromise, anomalous behavior, and emerging threat patterns across client environments.
  • Incident Response Support: Collaborate with the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to triage alerts, contain breaches, and coordinate remediation activities in real time.
  • Threat Intelligence Production: Generate concise, intelligence‑driven reports that profile adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), leveraging both internal data feeds and external open‑source intelligence.
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise clients on risk mitigation strategies, recommend security controls, and help design resilient architectures that align with industry best practices such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001.
  • Data Enrichment & Correlation: Integrate diverse data sources—including DNS logs, malware repositories, and threat feeds—into a unified analytical workflow to surface hidden relationships.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripts to automate repetitive analysis tasks, improve detection efficiency, and reduce mean time to detection (MTTD).
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Participate in internal threat‑hunting squads, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to arenaflex’s knowledge base and playbook libraries.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay ahead of the threat landscape by researching new attack vectors, attending industry conferences, and obtaining relevant certifications.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in incident response, threat analysis, or security operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise with network engineering concepts, digital forensics, and security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
  • Active or eligible Top Secret/SCI clearance (or ability to obtain one) for handling highly classified government data.
  • Proficiency in analyzing network traffic, packet captures, and log data to uncover malicious activity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into executive‑level briefings.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working with threat intelligence platforms (TIPs) and handling strategic cyber threat intelligence (CTI) in production environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise security controls such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems, system hardening, and secure configuration management.
  • Knowledge of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated logging mechanisms.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, GCIA, or Certified Threat Intelligence Analyst (CTIA).
  • Prior work with government or defense sector clients, especially in handling classified information.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data sets, identify subtle indicators, and construct coherent threat narratives.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of tools like Wireshark, Volatility, Splunk, Elastic Stack, and threat‑intel platforms (e.g., MISP, ThreatConnect).
  • Problem‑Solving: Creative approach to overcoming obstacles, developing novel detection logic, and adapting to evolving adversary techniques.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork orientation, comfortable working across distributed teams, and capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communication: Clear, concise reporting style for both technical and non‑technical audiences; adept at creating executive summaries, slide decks, and incident briefs.
  • Ethical Integrity: Commitment to confidentiality, responsible handling of sensitive data, and adherence to industry compliance standards.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its security talent. As a Cyber Threat Analyst, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior threat hunters and former intelligence operatives.
  • Sponsored certifications and tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees.
  • Regular internal “hack‑the‑box” labs that simulate real‑world attacks.
  • Opportunities to transition into senior roles such as Threat Intelligence Lead, Incident Response Manager, or Security Architecture Consultant.
  • Cross‑functional projects with product engineering, cloud services, and compliance teams, broadening your expertise beyond pure analysis.
