Washington Connections Academy (WACA) is a tuition-free, virtual public school serving students in grades K-12 statewide. WACA has two schools under its umbrella of the shared-services model. It operates in partnerships with the Mary M. Knight School District and Goldendale School District and is under contract with Connections Academy to provide its educational program and other services. Both Washington Connections Academy schools are accredited by Cognia and were recognized as Cognia Schools of Distinction in 2022. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily operations within a growing educational environment. This position plays a critical role in providing clerical, organizational, and communication support to staff, students, and families. The ideal candidate will possess strong technology skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining efficient systems and processes. While the primary office location is in Lacey, Washington, remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Applicants must be residents of the State of Washington. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide administrative and clerical support to school leadership and staff. Manage correspondence, emails, phone calls, and inquiries from families, students, and staff. Maintain accurate records, databases, and electronic filing systems. Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining calendars. Support document preparation, data entry, reporting, and record management. Coordinate communication between departments and external stakeholders. Monitor and organize office workflows to ensure efficient operations. Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with applicable laws and policies. Assist with onboarding, tracking compliance documentation, and other administrative projects as assigned. Provide support for special education processes and documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and web-based applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated customer service skills and professional demeanor. Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members. Resident of the State of Washington.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a school, educational, or nonprofit setting. Knowledge of school systems, student records, and educational processes. Familiarity with special education programs, documentation, and compliance requirements. Experience working with multilingual populations and supporting diverse communities.
