Why This Role Matters

As an External Support Engineer you will serve as the vital bridge between arenaflex’s external content creation teams and the internal tools engineering group. Your work ensures that creators, producers, and partners can seamlessly use the sophisticated toolsets that power our platform, ultimately delivering a flawless viewing experience to our audience. This is an entry‑level, fully remote position that offers a unique blend of technical problem‑solving, customer interaction, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Role Overview

In this role you will be the first point of contact for external teams encountering challenges with arenaflex’s content creation tools. You will diagnose issues, provide clear guidance, create training resources, and work closely with the tools development team to prioritize enhancements. Your contributions will directly influence the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the workflows that drive our content pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Deliver prompt, courteous, and effective assistance to external content teams using arenaflex’s suite of creation tools.
  • Documentation & Training: Author comprehensive reference guides, FAQs, and video tutorials; conduct live training sessions to accelerate onboarding for new partners.
  • Issue Diagnosis & Resolution: Investigate, debug, and resolve tool‑related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Escalation Management: Identify complex or high‑impact issues, log them in JIRA, and collaborate with the tools engineering team to drive timely fixes.
  • Advocacy & Feedback Loop: Gather actionable feedback from external teams, champion workflow improvements, and help shape the product roadmap.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance specialists to design and implement enhancements that boost efficiency and quality.
  • Feature Development Participation: Contribute to the ideation, design, and rollout of new features, ensuring they meet real‑world creator needs.
  • Professional Conduct: Model reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions, fostering trust across internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting live services or tool environments, preferably within a fast‑paced media or gaming context.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with Unity 3D for game and tool development, including the ability to navigate the Unity editor and understand its scripting pipeline.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting C# code, enabling you to troubleshoot and communicate effectively with development teams.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or comparable defect‑tracking and documentation platforms to manage issues and knowledge bases.
  • Exposure to iOS and Android mobile development concepts, providing a holistic view of cross‑platform tool usage.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests, meet deadlines, and maintain clear records of support activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for translating technical concepts into understandable guidance for non‑technical partners.
  • Positive, self‑motivated attitude with a willingness to receive and provide constructive feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience delivering production‑level code in a professional environment, demonstrating a track record of reliability and quality.
  • Prior experience working directly with external content creators, studios, or agencies in a support or consultancy capacity.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) and remote troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems such as Git.
  • Certification or formal training in customer support best practices, ITIL, or related service‑management methodologies.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex technical problems, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions.
  • Empathy & Communication: Skilled at listening to partner concerns, translating technical jargon, and delivering clear, actionable instructions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a matrixed environment, building relationships across engineering, product, and creative teams.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a dynamic, fast‑moving setting where priorities shift and new challenges emerge regularly.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in tool development.
