About the Role

You will collaborate closely with game designers, art directors, and riggers to create fluid and impactful animations that enhance gameplay and player immersion. Key Responsibilities
Animate high-quality character performances, including locomotion, combat, facial expressions, and general interaction cycles. Collaborate with the animation director and other artists to achieve the desired artistic style and quality for character animations. Implement animations using game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and ensure proper integration with character rigs. Work with animators and riggers to refine character rigs for optimal animation performance and deformation. Ensure animations are responsive, impactful, and align with gameplay mechanics and player feedback. Maintain a high standard of animation quality and consistency throughout the project. Receive and provide constructive feedback on animations during reviews. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in character animation for video games. Manage time effectively to meet production deadlines in a remote work environment. Contribute to the overall storytelling and emotional impact of the game through animation.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in character animation for video games. A strong demo reel showcasing exceptional character animation skills in various contexts (e.g., realistic, stylized). Proficiency in animation software such as Maya or Blender. Solid understanding of animation principles, weight, timing, and posing. Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their animation systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with rigging and understanding of character deformation is a plus. A passion for video games and character performance. Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
