Why This Role Matters

Data is the lifeblood of arenaflex’s business strategy. As a Senior Data Engineer – Data Analytics & Pipeline Architecture, you will be at the heart of our data ecosystem, designing, building, and operationalizing robust data pipelines that turn raw, complex datasets into actionable insights for business intelligence, advanced analytics, and mission‑critical services. Your work will directly influence product development, supply‑chain optimization, customer experience, and strategic decision‑making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from a wide variety of internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence (BI) Engineers to create scalable, reliable, and high‑performance data models.
  • Implement data quality, validation, and reconciliation processes to ensure the accuracy and trustworthiness of data assets.
  • Leverage cloud‑native technologies (rebranded as arenaflex services) to build data lakes, data warehouses, and NoSQL stores that support both batch and real‑time analytics.
  • Automate pipeline deployment using CI/CD best practices, integrating with version control systems and DevOps workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data flow performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks and recommending enhancements.
  • Document pipeline architecture, data lineage, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Lead peer reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion data‑driven best practices across the team.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to critical incidents, ensuring data availability and continuity of service.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements, bringing innovative ideas to the arenaflex data community.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience designing and operating data pipelines with large, complex datasets.
  • Proven expertise with arenaflex PowerCenter (formerly Informatica PowerCenter) and arenaflex IICS (formerly Informatica Cloud) for ETL/ELT development.
  • Strong background in data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake concepts, including experience with relational databases (SQL, Oracle) and NoSQL technologies.
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries across heterogeneous data sources.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (rebranded as arenaflex services) such as arenaflex Data Lake Storage, arenaflex Synapse, arenaflex Databricks, and arenaflex Event Hub.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast‑paced, agile development environments and adapt to evolving business priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders both in writing and verbally.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings, to support critical business operations.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., arenaflex Certified Data Engineer).
  • Experience with event‑driven architectures and messaging systems such as arenaflex Event Hub (formerly Azure Event Hub) or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with Git‑based DevOps workflows and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
  • Background in retail or e‑commerce domains, understanding of SKU management, inventory, and supply‑chain data flows.
  • Exposure to SAP integration tools and experience with enterprise job schedulers (e.g., arenaflex Scheduler).
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset, with a track record of optimizing data reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Mastery of ETL/ELT design patterns, data ingestion, transformation, and loading techniques.
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Deep familiarity with arenaflex cloud services for storage, processing, and orchestration.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for custom data processing tasks.
