The Role: Customer Service Representative - Remote Healthcare Support Specialist
We're seeking an experienced and motivated Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive customer service support for our Review Team through various communication channels
- Interact effectively with beneficiaries and providers via our helpline, offering guidance and assistance with healthcare-related inquiries
- Create, format, proofread, and distribute professional correspondence while maintaining strict adherence to quality standards
- Handle complex appeals with exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
- Answer the Beneficiary Helpline, determining the best course of action for each caller and properly entering referrals into the CMS system
- Ensure all outgoing correspondence is completed in a timely manner with correct components and reviewed for grammatical accuracy
- Obtain and validate notices and all components of medical records with precision and attention to detail
- Manage intake for all appeals received by arenaflex
- Foster effective working relationships between arenaflex's internal and external customers
- Participate in identifying areas for process improvement through case reviews and team collaboration
- Utilize internal quality control tools to assess individual work and team processes
- Maintain proficiency in customer service guidelines and standards while adapting to evolving healthcare regulations
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post-high school business courses are preferred
- Medical terminology knowledge is highly desirable
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a courteous and patient demeanor
- Strong customer orientation with the ability to maintain composure under potentially stressful situations
- Superior grammar, punctuation, spelling, hyphenation, and written communication skills
- Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
- Flexibility to work as a team member and support team decisions
- General knowledge of PC-based computer systems
- Ability to learn various software packages as needed
- Exceptional multitasking abilities with strong prioritization skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to work independently
Preferred Experience
- Two to three years of clerical experience including word processing, various filing systems, and telephone customer service responsibilities
- Previous work experience in a healthcare setting or familiarity with medical terminology
- Prior data entry or other relevant clerical experience
- Experience with CMS systems or similar healthcare documentation platforms
